C.S. Buck and Ball (. 69 Caliber) Excavated

Dropped "buck and ball" cartridge rounds. These cartridges were composed of a .69 caliber round ball and 3 smaller buckshot balls. This is what remains of the original cartridge after the paper portion has rotted away. Dug (legally) in a Confederate infantry camp near Shiloh, Tennessee. NOTE: We have numerous sets all virtually identical to those shown in the photo. Second photo is a diagram of the construction of these cartridges and is shown for reference only. NOTE: Civil War bullets were manufactured from lead! CONDITION: EXCELLENT with a nice uncleaned to white patina. Very minimal (if any) damage. (#p2561)

Original (excavated) Civil War bullets! A nice lot of 25 "dropped" three ring minie balls. Most are .58 caliber, though your set may include a few smaller calibers.
