This original brass Civil War era Infantry Horn was manufactured in March of 1865 for Conrad B. Day of 38 North Third Street, Philadelphia. There were two patterns of these stamped brass headgear (hat) devices, one of which is offered here. Iron attachment loops. Measures just under 3 1/2 inches across. This example came out of a cache discovered in Philadelphia about 15 years ago (see second scan - for informational purposes only). CONDITION: Excellent. Very minor signs of age. (#p2451T)

Quite a nice Civil War pattern 1839 waist belt plate on an original bridle leather belt. The plate has stud (puppy paw) hooks and measures about 54 x 84 mm. The belt is about 36 1/2 inches in length. See Plate 487 in American Military Belt Plates by O’Donnell & Campbell for a similar (but maker marked) example. Condition: Plate has some "dings" and a slight bend on the right side. Belt is supple with some flaking and crazing. Other normal signs of age. (#p2595)
